Gresol, Library and Cultural Studies Centre is a non profit making cultural association founded in 2002 by the visual artists, Denys Blacker and Anet van de Elzen. Gresol began as a project to create a contemporary art library and archive and to organise events related to live art/performance art. The main aims of the association have been and continue to be; the exchange of knowlege and the promotion of contemporary art practices, in particular those practices related to live art and its creative process. ![]() | THE WEB PAGE We are currently developing the web page in stages to include all the archive material from the gresolart programme. At present the entire FEM festival archive is online. The other festival archives will follow. In the future we also hope to make the contents of the library available online. Proceeds from the online shop will go towards the running and improvement of the association. | |
![]() | Activities: FEM FEM is an international performance art/live art festival showcasing the work of women. The first edition was held in 2004 in la Bisbal and in 2006 we moved to Girona. The festival coincides every year with International Women’s Day which is celebrated on March 8th. ![]() | Activities: MaMa P-ART-ICIPATION An annual festival that is unique because of the particular concept of participation embodied by it. Many of the residents in Madremanya, the small medieval village where it is held, take part in the production of the live art works or as volunteers in the organisation. The works all take place in the streets and courtyards around the historic centre of the village in mid summer. The festival began in la Bisbal in 2003 and was moved to Madremanya in 2008. ![]() | Activities exclusively for members. We regularly organise meetings and activities for Gresol members. Past activities have included artists talks, meals, auctions and concerts. Members can take out a yearly membership or a daily membership pass. | |
![]() | Education An important objective of the association is to develop a series of workshops for young people and artists. In every festival we programme workshops directed by professional artists. We also programme workshops and audio visual presentations during the year. | |
