In 2009 we definitively renamed the meeting with the name of FEM. This decision was made to create a recognizable identity for the encounters. FEM_09 was held at the Cultural Centre la Mercè (Girona) and at the University of Girona and was curated by Denys Blacker. For the first time, the works were presented separately because only two of the artists wanted to present works of duration and the others made short works. There was a programme of artist-led workshops and all participating artists gave an audio visual presentation of their work. There was also a projection of images of women performers in collaboration with City of Women Festival (SL) presented by Mara Vujic (HR).
The participating artists were: Maria Marticorena (ES), Analía Beltran (ES) and Eva Pérez (ES), Elena del Rivero (ES/US), Monali Meher (IN/ NL) and Helena Hunter (UK). Three of the artists; Analía Beltran, Monali Meher and Eva Pérez presented their performances at the opening of FEM at the UDG.
The theoretical program was carried out in the Chair of Contemporary Art and Culture at the University of Girona. (UDG). The following academics, critics and writers participated: Maria Lluïsa Borras, Imma Prieto, Carme Ortiz, Imma Merino and Assumpta Bassas.
